
Congratulations to our very own Hazleton Rotarian and District 7410 Governor Tim Genetti, recipient of the 2026 Distinguished Citizen Award from the Minsi Trails Council of Scouting America. Eighteen Rotarians representing four area clubs were in attendance. The evening benefitted local scouting programs.

Our very own Mary Malone, President of the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, gave us an update on the great things happening in our community and programs the organization provides to it members.

100 veterans were honored at the 4th annual luncheon, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Hazleton. Kathie Oh chaired the project.
A wonderful weekend at Not Your Typical Conference in Gettysburg, a meeting of seven different districts coming together to celebrate rotary. Abraham Lincoln gave his Gettysburg Address, we toured the battlefield, and had our own District program.
Hazleton Rotary participated at the recent Ladies Night Out, sponsored by the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce to spread the good news about Rotary and extend an invitation to new members. President Joan and Vice President Steve were among the participants.
Holly Pilcavage, Vice President of Enrollment, Student Success, and Institutional Advancement at Luzerne County Community College was our speaker with an update on the college, including new programs to offer teaching and some medical degrees at the Hazleton location.

Our very own Rotarian Danielle Materella spoke to the club about the good works of Catholic Social Services.

Welcome to our newest “Young Rotarian!” Congratulations to Olivia and Billy Spear, and grandparents Bill and Marylynn on the birth of Henry!
Our Club presented the City of Hazleton and the Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) with Oxygen masked used to resuscitate dogs, cats and other family pets rescued after a fire or carbon monoxide emergency. Deputy Hazleton Fire Chief Shawn Jones, and Mike Pribula, Jason Knight, and Dennis Ganc, of LVHN discussed the benefits the mask provide to first responders at the scene. Our very own Rotarians Mark Ondishin and Lisa Marie Halecky spearheaded the project. Lisa Marie is not pictured.
